boston  (usa)

Historic apartment in the center of Boston, a five-minute walk from the Boston Common and from four of Boston's gay venues (Club Cafe, Jacques, Trophy Room, and Legacy). Kitchen facilities, bed/couch/futon options, free laundry in the basement, bathtub/shower.

Boston is a small city, so everything is very walkable or accessible through the subway. I love the city, so I would be happy to show you around if my schedule permits - Freedom Trail, Harvard, museums (more popular ones include Museum of Fine Arts, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Tea Party Museum, Paul Revere House, Harvard museums, MIT museum, Museum of Science).

If the weather is good, think about a trip to Provincetown (which we call Ptown)! For nine months a year, it is a quiet, small, historic town with an important history in the fishing industry... and for three months of the year, it is a summer, gay beach party town (including both busy "theme" weeks and quieter "non-theme" weeks. If the ferry is running (half the year), it is 1.5 hours on the boat... or a two-hour drive to the end of Cape Cod. Boston is also a convenient base for visiting Salem, Plymouth, Martha's Vineyard, etc. If you're in Boston in the summer, check out the dates for the annual World Naked Bike Ride!

I'm a doctor working in public health and international health projects (so no patient responsibilities). I travel a lot for work, so if you are coming to Boston, I can let you know my schedule around the time of your visit. I speak English (native speaker), and I am relatively fluent in French (from living in Mali for two years and Geneva for three years) and Spanish (around three years working in Latin America). My German isn't great, but okay for basic conversations. Also Bambara (two years living in Mali teaching high school math).

So if you are coming to Boston and need a place to stay or have questions about the city, let me know!
