Hi! We are located in Olhão, just 12km from Faro Airport in the eastern Algarve, which is typically associated with a more unspoiled and rural, relaxed, unpolished life continuing in parallel with a reasonable amount of tourism.
Nevertheless, Olhão gains significant interest by tourists today. People come to see the famous market, the cubic shapes of the traditionally narrow tiled townhouses, the traditional salt production continuing in salt pans etc.
OUR PLACE - Our modern ground floor apartment is located in the middle of the city, a 5-10 minute walk from the charming downtown area, the marketplace and the marina. We are also conveniently located near the train station with many cheap connections to Faro, Tavira and other coastal towns. Uber and Bolt are available and can be used to reach other destinations at a very reasonable cost in case you don't have a rental car.
THE GUEST BEDROOM contains a double (140cm) bed and a wardrobe, street-side window and a guest-dedicated toilet from the entrance hallway. The bathroom with a shower is shared. We have a center living room with TV, high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the apartment. Our kitchen has recently been equipped with all the necessary appliances.
A large garden terrace with dining table, our living room April-September, allows for nice outside dinners, drinks and enjoying the sun. While half of the terrace is suitable for nudity, the other half is exposed to neighbors (we ask to wear at least a towel if entering that area, simply out of consideration).
A light & easy breakfast is included.
BEACHES - We are fortunate to have some of the best beaches nearby, some requiring a short ferry-ride and others easily accessible by car. As Algarve is a relatively small region, exploring different beautiful coastal areas is fairly easy. In the Faro/Olhão/Fuseta area, beaches are located on the long sand dune islands lining the entire coast. Ferries from Olhão can take you to the Armona and Farol/Culatra islands, while the islands of Barreta and Tavira are accessed from other towns. These sandy beaches are so long that they all allow for anybody to spot their own refuge, and several (more or less frequented) nudist spots emerge during the summer season. A 40 min drive away towards the Spanish border is the famous Manta Rota beach with its own gay nude section.
ABOUT US - We are a sociable couple who enjoy meeting new people. We like to spend time with friends at home or out as much as we enjoy cooking and sipping on a cocktail, a good glass of wine or a refreshing beer on our backyard terrace.
Our household includes a very friendly dog who, like us, loves meeting new people and making friends. We are “clothing optional”, thus nudity is optional in our home, but we enjoy the freedom of nude sunbathing, frequenting the beach and find that hanging out al fresco in the nude adds a special touch to a warm day.
(Rules: Smoking on the terrace only. No guests unless agreed. 40 € fee for lost keys.)
