I’m Stephan, and I share my farm with a small number of people who are curious about this way of living.
This isn’t a bookable stay or a guesthouse; it’s a homestay, sometimes a volunteer exchange, always a shared space.
The farm sits in the São Mamede Natural Park, far from the crowds: Think wild forests, cork oaks, olive groves, stone formations, streams, and waterfalls. It’s about
2.5 hours from Lisbon by car, with two direct daily buses.
On the land: a food forest, veggie gardens, several streams, and plenty of quiet corners to disappear into. I also run a small natural wine project and a vegan
bar/guesthouse just across the border in Spain (not nudist).
I live here with three dogs and a cat.
Timing
I usually only host travellers for short stays from Monday to Wednesday. From Thursday to Sunday, I’m working at the bar/guesthouse, so the rhythm here is quite
different.
How staying works
Short stays (1–2 nights) are informal, more like visiting friends. We share a meal… you bring a good bottle of wine (natural, ideally).
Longer stays are based on a simple exchange: around four hours of help per day (garden, house, seasonal work), with meals and lodging included. Afternoons are
yours. Clothing optional when it feels right. Minimum for volunteering is 4 weeks.
Where you stay
– A room in the house (shared bathroom), overlooking the olive grove
– Or a tent spot somewhere on the land… forest, terraces, near water
About me
I ended up here in 2021 after living in a few different places around Europe and the world. This project grew out of wanting to live closer to the land and build
something real. Life here is simple, social, and a bit unpredictable… shared meals, conversations, occasional gatherings.
If you’re looking for a place to book like a B&B, this probably isn’t it, but f you’re curious about being part of this for a few days or a bit longer, send me a
message and tell me a bit about yourself… and what draws you here.
